StitchFix #4

Time is flying by and another passing day has brought StitchFix #4! I could just kiss our Fedex guy. He must know that this package is extremely important and therefore should be promptly delivered right when I wake up. My husband is amused that I pop out of bed and rush to the door to fetch my precious'.

For those of you who don't know what Stitchfix is, here is a refresher. I was very excited to open the box and find this beautiful necklace sitting on top. Statement necklaces are my latest obsession, especially when they have multiple colors that can be mixed with several different outfits. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the name of this particular necklace, oops!

I was really pleased with the color scheme that my stylist had chosen. It always amazes me how they seem to know my color preferences so well.

The first thing I tried on was this beautiful Reina Racerback Belted Maxi Dress by Tart. Of course it fit perfectly and I loved it! Being nearly 6 feet tall, I get REALLY excited when I find clothing that is long enough and this dress nailed it! The belt that came with it also accented my waist nicely and the dress paired perfectly with the necklace. Another bonus to this dress was that I didn't have to wear Spanx under it to smooth things out! I'm always happy to find "date night" dresses that hide what I ate for dinner.

Unfortunately, this dress was out of my price range and it was sadly returned :( What do you think? Was a I crazy to return it? Here is the style card they sent with it.

Next I tried on this Geena Chevron Print Tunic which I was prepared to hate. I.DO.NOT.WEAR.TUNICS.

I decided to belt it lower down my waist than the picture suggested and "poof" the shirt a bit which made me kind of like it. The shirt looked especially great with these Level 99 Caius Straight Leg Jeans in a mint color. Let me just say that these jeans are made of the best material on earth. The fabric is soft, stretchy, forgiving, and perfect for Arizona summers. The pants were definitely a keeper!

I love how they styled the jeans with a polka dot tee and a yellow purse, definitely something I will have to try since I already have a similar shirt.

Last, I was really hopeful about this Colibri Bird Print Tab Sleeve Blouse that I had pinned on Pinterest. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a thing for bird stuff and mint colored objects. This shirt was everything and more! Despite being a little tight through the arms and chest I couldn't part with it. I even had the perfect hot pink purse to go with it from Francescas Collections.

I paired the bird shirt with the Level 99 jeans and a pair of gold ballet flats from Payless.

StitchFix #3!

Stitch Fix #3 actually arrived first thing in the morning on the same day that I had my externship (interview thing) with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). Of course I had to rip the box open and try everything on before I left for the day which means that I once again failed to take detailed pretty box pictures. I know that you're devastated by not seeing 5 pictures of the box, but hopefully the rest will make up for that. Oh look! I did take one picture of the stuff sitting in the box!

Before I get ahead of myself, let me explain the wonderfulness that is StitchFix. Stitch Fix is a personal styling service that allows you to fill out a profile with all sorts of personal information which is used to match you up with a stylist who ships a box of 5 items to you every month, or whenever you request it. They charge a $20 styling fee which will be deducted from the cost of any items that you keep and if you keep everything, then you get 25% off the total price!

You have 3 days to try the items on with stuff you already own in the comfort of your home, then drop them in the return mailer provided to you for free! They also have different price ranges to fit different budgets as well as clothes for different occasions.

Now onto the good stuff..

Tart Mallika Dotted Stripe Belted Maxi Dress

At first I didn't think that I liked this dress, but then I showed it to my husband with the belt and the necklace and asked him to take a picture for the blog. The look on his face when he saw me made me reconsider and I decided to keep this one. The fabric is so soft and look how long it is! I'm almost 6 feet tall and it touches the ground!

Next up...

Bottom left photo Tenessey Chevron Print Maxi Dress
Right photo: 41 Hawthorn Linda Cross Front Knit Top (also shown in top left photo)
The cross front top was a much easier decision as it was a great future work piece (as well as casual). I love versatile fashion! The knit fabric won me over as well, so soft and pretty!

The maxi skirt was also a tough decision as I felt that it was a little too snug in the waist and hips, but I loved the print and it is made of a very thin rayon fabric so I decided to hit the gym a little harder to compensate.

The chevron maxi dress was the third tough call in this mix as it was about 4 inches too short and hit me at a very awkward point. Luckily, my mom is a fantastic seamstress and said that we could definitely shorten it to knee length.

And finally...

This top was an easy yes, the print is cute and the fabric is nice and cool! Way to go Stitch Fix!
